Vikram Kumar Jha/Purnia: Many people drive, some of whom keep blowing the horn unnecessarily and some people use the horn only when needed. But there is one person who has not used the horn for 5 years. If we look at the condition of the roads and the crowd in the country, it is difficult to even think about driving without a horn. Where it is difficult to drive without a horn even for a day, there is a person who has been driving without a horn for 5 years. Let’s know why he drives without a horn.
Because of this I changed my habit
Gautam Pandey, a resident of Purnia Rambagh, used to work as an engineer in the United Nations. When he came to his home in Purnia after retirement, he told Local 18 that he drives without blowing the horn for the last 5 years i.e. since 2019. He travels far and wide in his car and enjoys driving without blowing the horn. He says that people only need to change some of their habits while driving.
He told that for the first time in 2018, he was at a bus stand. There he got bored of the loud sound of the horn, high pressure horn and the noise of the normal horn within an hour. At that time, he decided in his mind that from today onwards, he will drive the car without a horn. Since then, he started changing this habit of his and from then till today and till the end of his life, he decided to drive the car without blowing the horn.
noise pollution from horns
Gautam says that blowing the horn causes noise pollution which is a big pollution. Apart from the common people, it has been reported that it causes many types of damage including deafness, mental problems to pregnant women and other people including their unborn child.
He said that we humans need at least 50 decibels of sound to hear. In such a situation, there is a danger of noise pollution increasing due to blowing the horn. According to him, everyone should make efforts to save the environment from the damage caused by noise pollution. He said that the first duty of humans would be that the environment gives us everything, so all of us should also take special care of the environment.
People have become habituated to blowing horn unnecessarily
Gautam told Local18 that common people have developed a habit of blowing the horn. People often blow the horn without any reason. This causes trouble to other people. Blowing the horn unnecessarily or repeatedly is an invitation to the factors of noise pollution. In such a situation, if everyone contributes to saving the environment, then blow the horn at minimum places from today and now. People can drive their vehicles slowly without blowing the horn. This will not cause any problem to other people and the environment will also be saved.
